Bolstered by the original’s success, George Lucas shot for the moon a second time around, teaming up with director Irvin Kershner to tell the story of Luke training under Master Yoda, Han and Leia heading to Cloud City, and Darth Vader dropping the daddy of all twists.

Counting all of these together, that gives us 61 games, which could stretch all the way to 88 if you count every Xtreme Legends and Empires spin-off. Counting all of the series and each game within in it, we have a grand total of 27 games. For Dynasty Warriors, we have 13 spin-off games, while Samurai Warriors has six spin-offs in total. The vast majority of these are handheld titles, with gameplay more limited or specialised compared to the console games. And as you can see from the table below, there are enough spin-off games for just these two series to keep us occupied.

Marketplaces are rife with good games with bad opening levels, but this one starts badly in another way. I prefer to command individual units; here, you’ll command entire armies. Take your time, make your decisions, and evaluate your options. This is also a solid way to get into war games; Command and Conquer opened so many doors for me. Spamming tanks across the screen still holds a certain satisfaction, and I’ve missed the campy cutscenes. It’s easy enough to grasp, and complex enough to keep you hooked while you learn how it all works.

From The Godfather to Parasite to Star Wars, here’s Empire’s list of the greatest films ever made.

One of the best horror movies ever made — Hitchcock’s monochromatic masterwork is pure cinema. After she steps into the shower, the entire narrative of the film dramatically shifts. For the entire opening act, a classic noir captivates your attention! This adaptation by the Coen brothers, meeting perfectly with artistic sensibilities, showcases their unique style of dark, violent filmmaking while incorporating the existential themes of Cormac McCarthy’s literary work.

Some games feature rapid action and combat — whereas others approach combat in a more thoughtful and strategic manner. You will either find yourself glued to the screen by the relentless zombie hordes or curled up in a corner — hyperventilating into a brown paper bag. Typically (strategy games do not bother me), yet this particular one manages to get under my skin.

This spin-off makes the return to Gotham feel necessary and well-deserved, highlighted by outstanding performances from Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti. With eight episodes to explore, no emotionally complex or morally ambiguous storyline feels overlooked. The constant scheming adds momentum to a well-crafted and unpredictably engaging narrative that doesn’t linger too long before delivering significant moments. Throughout the story, LeFranc skillfully balances making the main character relatable and likable, while continuously reminding us of his ruthless nature. In The Penguin (Oz has the opportunity to become the protagonist of his own narrative across eight episodes), all without the presence of any Dark Knights. Colin Farrell’s surprisingly comedic and scene-stealing performance shines through (despite the layers of impressive makeup), marking it as one of the standout features of the film.

It’s no surprise that it made history as the first non-English language movie to do so – this South Korean genre-defying delight offers some of the biggest twists and expertly mounted tension in recent memory — with a family of excellent performances.
